“As beautiful as the night sky” …lured by incandescent shimmer, our eyes draw skyward when a clear night appears. From infinity and beyond, the universe presents us with the twelve signs of the Zodiac. Each of us born under stars, given our own to guide us. With the glimmer of astronomical influence, Sid Dickens has crafted a collection of celestial proportions.

"Pandora for your wall” is how Sid Dickens collectors describe their collection. This artwork is personal, and each persons' collection and display is unique to that individual. Apart from the artwork on the front, the entire collection features many personal messages that commemorate different occasions or conjure a special memory that would make them an ideal versatile art collection as well as a meaningful gift. Whether hung on a wall or placed in a stand, Sid Dickens tiles are a permanent sentiment always on display.

Sid Dickens is an internationally renowned Canadian artist known for creating handmade 6' x 8" plaster tiles. Every tile is skillfully handmade in small batches by a team of artisans, therefore no two tiles are exactly the same. The back consists of wood (with a hole for hanging), the sentiment for that tile number, and a stamped logo. Each year, Sid Dickens introduces collections inspired by his experiences, travels, and the world around him; while also retiring numerous tiles.

For over 25 years, Sid Dickens has been creating his own moulds which are used to pour plaster. Once the plaster is dry, a team of skilled artisans use techniques such as glazing, gliding and staining, methodically applied in layers, to decorate the tile. You will notice that no two tiles are exactly the same because of this.

As one of Canada’s largest Sid Dickens retailers, Crafted Decor endeavours to stock all current tiles, as well as many BRAND NEW retired tiles for those of you that are newer to this art collection and want something from earlier years. Crafted Decor ships large and small orders all over continental North America, with each tile being inspected twice and packed by our long-time experienced shipper (my husband). If you are outside North America, feel free to send an email with the tiles you are interested in and we will get a shipping quote for you.

PLEASE NOTE: Sid Dickens had decided to no longer sell his collection through retailers. While we are currently stockpiling tiles for our customers that enjoy seeing them in person, as of April 2024, Crafted Decor will not be able to re-order anymore tiles. So if you like to see the tiles in person, we suggest that you make a wishlist from our website and come in sooner than later.
